Dr. Mathobela Matjekane is a qualified medical doctor, entrepreneur, and one of the most passionate advocates for women’s health in South Africa today. Having qualified with an MBChB degree from the University of Cape Town in 2002 — one of the most respected medical institutions on the African continent — and further completing a Diploma in HIV Management, she has dedicated her career to one powerful belief that sits at the heart of everything she does — your health is your currency. In 2008, after six years of practising medicine and seeing firsthand the gaps in accessible, quality care, Dr. Mathobela Matjekane opened the first Clinimed practice with a clear and uncompromising vision — to create a space where every woman could access quality medical and aesthetic care without being made to feel like she had to choose between the two. She saw women being underserved. She saw clinical spaces that felt cold, inaccessible, and transactional. She saw a gap that nobody was filling — and she filled it. What started as one practice, one room, and one unwavering purpose has grown into something far greater than she could have imagined.

More than sixteen years later, Clinimed is not just a clinic — it is a movement. Having expanded beyond Gauteng and into the Western Cape, Clinimed now serves communities across Midrand, Parklands, Khayelitsha, and Mandalay, meeting women exactly where they are and delivering a standard of care that never compromises on safety, results, or dignity.
